Lake Tahoe, NV: Mt. Rose has a lot of fun events coming up in January/February! Check out what’s going on:
Friday Night Lights Rail Jam at Mt. Rose Jan. 29th
Mt. Rose is hosting a Friday Night Lights Rail Jam Jan. 29th from 4:30-6:00 pm sponsored by Eternal Boardshop. The rail jam will be held on the lower Show Off run in front of the Main Lodge. It’s open to everyone, helmets are required, and a parent or guardian must sign a liability release for ages 17 and younger. Competitors must have a season pass or lift ticket to enter.
Easy Steez Snowboard Jib Camps for Kids
Easy Steez camps are for kids ages 7-12 who like snowboarding and want to look good doing it. These camps take them to the next level of intermediate and advanced, working on jibbing and park skills as well as all-mountain riding. Camps are held Feb. 13-14th, start at 10 am, and cost $39 (lift ticket or season pass required). Spots are limited; call 775-849-0704 x220 to make reservations.
8th Annual Slide Back 80s Retro Ski Party
Mt. Rose invites skiers and boarders to leave the new millennium behind and travel back in time to the decade that gave us everything from Pac Man to Prozac. From once popular feathered hairstyles to stretch pants and skinny skis, visitors are invited to sport their finest '80s fashions. Breaking all of the ski fashion laws may even earn skiers and boarders new gear in the “Most Fashionable” contest at the Winters Creek Lodge, located at the base of the Slide Bowl.
All the action takes place at high noon with the Fashion or Fad contest. Special to this years’ event is the fact that 2010 will mark the first season at the new Winters Creek facility and a celebration of the revitalization of the entire Slide Bowl.
Stay tuned for details on other Mt. Rose events coming up such as the Chute Out, Dummy Downhill, and more!
Mt. Rose is Tahoe’s Gateway Resort, located 25 minutes away from Reno and 15 minutes from Lake Tahoe. Mt. Rose boasts over 1200 acres of terrain, including the 200+ acre Chutes, and the new Winters Creek Lodge- a 7865 sq. ft. building offering new dining options and panoramic views of Washoe Valley.
