It's all about fun!
Designed for wiser, more experienced skiers ages 50 and older who are at a skill level of lower intermediate to advanced, and are interested in the new movement patterns used with shaped skis, and/or improving their skiing techniques. It’s never too late to have more fun.

Clinics are conducted by Senior Instructors. Participants will leave with new skills, new acquaintances and an appreciation of the mountain.

The Silver Lining - 2 day Senior SKI CAMPS
Two-day Senior Seminar for select seniors ages 50 and over. Led by Rusty Crook & Linda Good.
Includes two days of instruction, complimentary breakfast in Timbers, video analysis, lunch voucher and an individual personalized video with audio ski commentary for each participant.
Reservations required. Reservations can be made at Guest Services - Mt. Rose main lodge.

our Silver Ski instructors:
Rusty Crook – program coordinator, has been teaching skiing since 1956 and became certified in 1957. He has been teaching at either Slide Mt. or Mt. Rose every year for the past 52 years. He has coached athletes who have been on the US Ski Team, won national and international competitions. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Professional Ski Instructors of America-Western Division Senior Committee.
Linda Good – started her teaching career in the Aurach bei Kitzbuhel Ski School in 1965. She spent 25 years at Mammoth Mountain as well as stints at Chateau Tongariro Ski School in New Zealand, Boreal/Soda Springs Ski School, Northstar at Tahoe Ski School, and the last 8 winters at Mt. Rose. Linda also helped develop and start the Women’s Ski Clinics last season at Mt. Rose.
Jim Pittman – started teaching at Alta, Utah for Alf Engen in 1965. He received full certification with PSIA in 1969 while working at Boreal Ridge. Jim was the Assistant Director of the Mt. Rose Ski School in 1970. After a career as a pilot for Western Airlines, Jim returned to Mt. Rose in 2007.
Dede Goodnight – Dede learned to ski right down the road at Sky Tavern when she was 12. She later returned to Sky Tavern as an instructor and trainer. She began teaching at Mt. Rose in 2001 and has since become certified by PSIA. Dede has also received her Children’s Specialist II and Senior Specialist accreditation from PSIA.
