Local Youth Programs

Youth Programs (formerly called School Programs) offer affordable multi-session lessons and are available to all local children. Residents of the Truckee Meadows have the unique opportunity to take advantage of their proximity to world-class winter recreation. Mt. Rose – Ski Tahoe is offering ski and snowboard development programs for elementary age children, in a controlled learning environment, with safety as our highest priority.

Our Youth Programs have a tremendous success rate, with the key element being continuity. The students learn from the same instructor throughout the lesson block, enabling them to build a positive and trustworthy relationship. Class sizes are small, allowing for individualized instruction & rapid progression of skill development. Year to year many students return to further their abilities; in fact, many graduates of past school programs are now part of our qualified instructor team.

TRADITIONAL: affordable 5-week program for local children

Each five-week session is offered both in the mornings or the afternoons on Wednesdays or Fridays for kids ages 4-12 years old.

Session 1-

Starts the week of Jan. 5th and ends the week of Feb. 2. Session 1 make-up dates are Feb 9, 11, 16 or 18.

Session 2-

Starts the week of March 2. Session 2 make-up dates are March 31, April 1, 6 or 8

(ages 4-10)    
$200 (includes rental equipment, snowboarding open to ages 7-8)
Rosebuds AM – 10:00 to 12:00
Rosebuds PM – 2:00 to 4:00

Rippers
(ages 11-12)
$115 ($165 with equipment rental)
Rippers AM – 10:00 to 11:30
Rippers PM – 2:00 to 3:30

MULTI-TRACK: affordable 6 session program for local children

Designed for Washoe Co. School District schools on multi-track schedule

Offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the months that the tracks are on break

- red track starts Jan. 4th

- blue track starts Feb. 1st

- green track starts March 1st

5- week sunday learn to ski or ride program

New program for beginner skiers and riders ages 10-12 (a stepping stone to Team Falcons- LTF or Peregrines)
$150 ($195 with equipment rental)
Starts at 12 noon
